These tests were<br \/>\ndeemed appropriate by the industry and user members participating<br \/>\nin the work of the Compliance Assessment Process and Procedures<br \/>\nTask Group (CAPPTG). The CAPPTG includes TIA members and<br \/>\nrepresentatives of Federal, State and Local Public Safety agencies<br \/>\nand organizations. This group, being familiar with the relevant<br \/>\npublished standards, available P25 equipment and test equipment and<br \/>\nthe general intentions of the P25 Compliance Assessment Program,<br \/>\nreviewed all tests and performance recommendations described in<br \/>\nreferences [1] and [2].<\/p>\n<p>The P25 Compliance Assessment Program confirms that the<br \/>\nequipment of different manufacturers will interoperate with respect<br \/>\nto the P25 defined features, services and interfaces. P25<br \/>\nCompliance Assessment testing of the Common Air Interface is<br \/>\nexpected to eventually include;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Performance Tests ensuring the Common Air Interface endpoints<br \/>\nare legitimate P25 devices for Trunking mode operation,<br \/>\nConventional mode operation, or both.<\/li>\n<li>Conformance Tests ensuring the Common Air Interface endpoints<br \/>\nexchange the proper messages under the proper circumstances for<br \/>\nTrunking mode operation, Conventional mode operation, or both.<\/li>\n<li>Interoperability Tests ensuring that Common Air Interface<br \/>\nendpoints from different manufacturers do functionally interoperate<br \/>\nfor Trunking mode operation, Conventional mode operation, or<br \/>\nboth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In determining the tests appropriate for P25 Compliance<br \/>\nAssessment Program testing in this area, the group considered<br \/>\nwhether tests in references [1] and [2] were important for<br \/>\nachieving interoperability between equipment of different<br \/>\nmanufacturers versus tests important for product design and\/or<br \/>\ncertification. In general, tests that were determined to be more<br \/>\noriented towards product design and\/or certification (such as but<br \/>\nnot limited to FCC certification) were deemed unnecessary for<br \/>\ninclusion in this list.
