Description

This standard describes polyacrylamide (PAM) for use in the treatment of potable water, wastewater, and reclaimed water. The standard provides the minimum requirements for PAM products, including physical, chemical, packaging, shipping, and testing requirements and to provide the means of developing requirements for PAM products. This standard can be referenced in documents for purchasing and receiving PAM products and can be used as a guide for testing the physical and chemical properties of PAM product samples.Major changes in this edition include requirements for technical data sheets, a limit for ethoxylated nonyl phenols in PAMs, clarification of aggregating the applied dosages of multiple applications, and improved guidance on establishing purchasing specifications.
