Measurement and testing of gears – Testing and monitoring of devices for gear measurement

This standard defines methods for the evaluation of gear measurement devices (with and without rotary table) used to check profile, flank line, pitch, runout and tooth thickness. In addition to the test procedures, the required gear reference standards for the respective characteristics and the necessary preparatory measures and general requirements for carrying out these tests are described. The tests described can be the subject of acceptance testing and can also serve for the internal continuous monitoring of a gear measuring instrument. The tests should be carried out both before a measuring instrument is put into operation and after a new installation, conversion or overhaul. The standard is intended for users of gear measurement (e.g. acceptance testing), manufacturers of form measuring machines, coordinate measuring machines and other measuring devices used in gear measuring technology.
