1.1 This specification covers liquids for use in paints, varnishes, enamels, and similar organic coatings and are solutions of metallic salts of:<\/p>\n

1.1.1 Class A<\/i> 2-Ethyl hexanoic acids in petroleum spirits.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.1.2 Class B<\/i> Naphthenic acids in petroleum spirits.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.1.3 Class C<\/i> Neodecanoic acids in petroleum spirits.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.1.4 Class D<\/i> Tall oil fatty acids in petroleum spirits.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.1.5 Class E<\/i> Any of the above acids or acid blends, but containing additives that make the liquid drier water dispersible. Some other driers may also contain complexing agents.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.1.6 Class F<\/i> Other acids and acid blends unidentified by their producers.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.2 The following applies to all specified limits in this standard; for purposes of determining conformance with this standard, an observed value or a calculated value shall be rounded off to the nearest unit in the last right-hand digit used in expressing the specification limit in accordance with the rounding-off method of Practice E29 .<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
