Scope
Guidance:
This Clause is largely self-explanatory. In addition, AS 3920.1-1993, Assurance of product quality , Part 1: Pressure equipment manufacture , has requirements for certification of a supplier's quality system to AS/NZS ISO 9001 and AS/NZS ISO 9002. It also provides that the maintenance of a certified quality system reduces the extent of independent third party design verification and inspection for certain categories of pressure equipment.
Whilst in Item (b) there is reference to design, this guidance document is also relevant to AS/NZS ISO 9002 which does not include the design function. The word installation may appropriately read as either 'delivery' or 'delivery and installation' when the contract covers these operations.
