ASHRAE Standard 171-2017 – Method of Testing for Rating Seismic and Wind Restraints (ANSI Approved)

ASHRAE | 2017 | 18 |
ASHRAE Standard 171 provides a test procedure for rating the capacity of seismic and wind restraints for nonstructural components and systems. The revised 2017 edition comprises a complete overhaul of the standard. It replaces a static push/pull test method with a cyclical, low-frequency test method and establishes a rating methodology for use with building codes. NOTE: Restraint capacities determined using the previous version are no longer considered valid.
