This British Standard specifies the electrical and mechanical properties of cold drawn copper-covered steel wire for telephone and telegraph purposes, with two grades of conductivity and three of tensile strength (expressed as minimum breaking load) for a range of wire diameters from 0.51 mm to 4.88 mm together with diameter tolerances for a range of nominal wire diameters.
