This Section of BS 6043 describes a method for determining the particle-size distribution of the solid aggregate component of cold ramming pastes used in aluminium manufacture.

The method is applicable to cold ramming pastes made with coal-tar or bituminous binders but not applicable for resin-based binders.

Digestion with dichloromethane followed by sieving. Not applicable to products made from synthetic resins.
