5.4.2.1 The tests shall be carried out with the anchor lines in accordance with 4.1.1 with a length of (3 ± 0,05) m.
5.4.2.2 For Type A rope adjustment devices, check that the rope adjustment device travels freely on the anchor line, which is loaded with (2 ± 0,01) kg, over a distance of at least 1,0 m in both directions by pulling the connecting element by hand and by operating the rope adjustment device in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and information. Repeat the test with a rope adjustment device including the anchor line conditioned in accordance with 5.2.2 to 5.2.4. If the manufacturer claims that the rope adjustment device is suitable for use in wet and cold conditions, repeat the test with an anchor line conditioned in accordance with 5.2.5.
5.4.2.3 For Type B rope adjustment devices, check that the rope adjustment device fitted with a connector can move freely on the anchor line in the upward direction by operating it in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and information. Repeat the test with a rope adjustment device including the anchor line conditioned in accordance with 5.2.2 to 5.2.4. If the manufacturer claims that the rope adjustment device is suitable for use in wet and cold conditions, repeat the test with an anchor line conditioned in accordance with 5.2.5.
