Scope

1.1 This Standard provides recommended practices and procedures, and outlines the required specifications for the installation of wind energy conversion systems.

1.2 This Standard is intended to be used in conjunction with other relevant CSA Standards and with manufacturers' instructions, drawings, and specifications in order to ensure the safety of installers and the public and to reduce any risk of damage to the WECS and property.

1.3 This Standard is not intended to constitute the sole source of information or instructions for installation practices nor to supersede other relevant Standards or manufacturer's recommended procedures. Where conflict with other documents or procedures is encountered or evident, users of this Standard are advised to investigate and resolve any discrepancies or to seek expert or professional consultation. This document is not intended as a training manual.

1.4 This Standard does not apply to the meteorological or climatological aspects of siting WECS.

1.5 This Standard has not been specifically written to include water-pumping WECS; however, much of the information found in this document will be applicable.None
