The second edition of CEN/TS 16794-1 sets out the technical requirements to be met by PT contactless devices (PT readers or PT objects) hosting a transport ticketing application in order to be able to interface together and to communicate with NFC mobile devices conformant to NFC Forum Analog and Digital specifications.The revised version shall keep up to date the existing requirements with new publications from ISO/IEC 14443, NFC Forum in order to maintain harmonisation between specifications.The revised version shall keep up to date the existing requirements with new publications from EMVCo in order to provide harmonisation in case a liaison with EMVCo is established.During the preparation of Edition 3, it is expected that CEN/TC 278/WG 3 will establish a liaison with EMVCo.This revision includes among other, the ability for PT readers to communicate with active PICCs.)
