Description

This guideline deals with the measurement of fallen precipitation per unit of horizontal area within a time unit. Conventional methods for precipitation measurement are described and specifications for installing the measuring instruments are provided. The guideline does not cover the collection of precipitation for chemical analysis, as described instruments are made of materials that may change the precipitation sample chemically.
