The standard provides an overview of the requirements for radio communication in automation technology. The essential fundamentals of radio communication are presented and help the user with his decision to use radio transmission in automation applications. Applicable radio technologies and standards are presented but limited to the following selected areas of automation technology: process automation, infrastructure facilities (e.g. sewage treatment plants), manufacturing automation, intralogistics/transport. The content focuses largely on users of radio technology in the areas of application mentioned, but also provide valuable information for manufacturers and service providers.
