This Standard specifies decorated boards 2) installed on the foundation of sheathing roof board 1), manufactured by press-forming materials such as cement, silicate material, fibre material excluding asbestos and admixture, that are used mainly for dwelling roofs (hereafter referred to as "shingles").

NOTE: The International Standards corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 9125: 2009 Fibre-cement slates and fittings-Product specification and test methods

ISO 10904: 2011 Fibre-cement corrugated sheets and fittings for roofing and cladding (Overall evaluation: MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standards andJIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ IEC Guide 21-1.

Notes 1) Sheathing roof board refers to structural plywood specified in Japanese Agricultural Standard having a thickness of 9 m or more or any structural plywood with yield strength at least equivalent to this, which are capable of fixing shingles with nails, screws, etc

2) Decorated boards refers to shingles of which the material is mixed with coloring material, and the base board of which is given a decorative layer by colouring, printing, coating, spraying, enameling or embossing
