This Standard specifies a static calibration method for force-proving instruments other than those used in static verification of uniaxial testing machines and a static performance test method for force transducers other than load cells for weighing instruments.

This Standard shall be applied to force-proving instruments including force transducers in which the force is determined by measuring the elastic deformation (hereafter referred to as "deflection") of a loaded member or a physical quantity which is proportional to it.
