This Standard establishes symbols uniquely for use on operator controls and other displays on manual portable forestry machinery.

Symbols included in this Standard are for controls and displays specific to manual portable forestry machinery such as chain-saws and brush-saws.

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows:

ISO 3767-5: 1992 Tractors, machinery for agriculture and forestry, powered lawn and garden equipment-Symbols for operator controls and other displays-Part 5: Symbols for manual portable forestry machinery and Amendment 1: 2001 (IDT)

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ lEC Guide 21-1.
