This Standard specifies safety requirements for air-handling luminaires for use with a ventilation duct or ventilated space (plenum) for use with tubular fluorescent lamps on supply voltages not exceeding 1 000 V.
It is to be read in conjunction with those sections of JIS C 8105-1 to which reference is made.
This Standard specifies only the safety aspects of air-handling luminaires; no requirements are specified for performance aspects.
NOTE 1 The terms ventilation duct and plenum in this Standard refer to forced ventilation.
NOTE 2 No requirements are specified at present in this Standard for the use of tungsten filament lamps and discharge lamps other than tubular fluorescent lamps.
