This Standard specifies the test methods for safety glazing materials to be used mainly for the windows of road vehicles (hereafter referred to as "safety glass").

NOTE: The International Standards corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 3537: 1999 Road vehicles-Safety glazing materials-Mechanical tests

ISO 3538: 1997 Road vehicles-Safety glazing materials-Test methods for optical properties

ISO 3917: 1999 Road vehicles-Safety glazing materials-Test methods for resistance to radiation, high temperature, humidity, fire and simulated weathering

ISO 15082: 1999 Road vehicles-Tests for rigid plastic safety glazing materials (Overall evaluation: MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standards and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ lEC Guide 21-1.
