This Standard specifies a method for determining the flowability of metallic powders by means of a calibrated funnel (Hall flowmeter).

This method is applicable only to metallic powders which flow freely through the specified orifice.

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 4490:2008 Metallic powders-Determination of Dow rate by means ofa calibrated funnel (Hall Dowmeter) (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
