Prepare personnel for effective fire fighter rescue with the 2010 NFPA 1407.
The all-new 2010 NFPA 1407: Standard for Training Fire Service Rapid Intervention Crews specifies the basic training procedures for fire service personnel to conduct fire fighter rapid intervention operations. Requirements are consistent with NFPA 1710: Standard for the Organization and Deployment of Fire Suppression Operations, Emergency Medical Operations, and Special Operations to the Public by Career Fire Departments; NFPA 1720: Standard for the Organization and Deployment of Fire Suppression Operations, Emergency Medical Operations, and Special Operations to the Public by Volunteer Fire Departments; and NFPA 1500: Standard on Fire Department Occupational Safety and Health Program.
It includes the training and performance requirements for rapid intervention crews (RIC) with the goal of creating a highly disciplined operational capability to rescue fire fighters who become lost, injured, trapped, incapacitated, or disoriented in the course of an emergency scene or training operation.
Fire department officers, fire fighters, company officers, and fire department instructors will find vital guidance on:
- RIC training policy and procedures
