The 2010 NFPA 1620 alerts responders to building features and special risks.

Completely revised and upgraded from a Recommended Practice to a Standard, NFPA 1620: Standard for Pre-Incident Planning provides criteria for developing pre-incident plans for use by personnel responding to emergencies.

Pre-planning is a key component of first responder effectiveness, and NFPA 1620 spells out the process.

Users of NFPA 1620 will be able to develop pre-incident plans to assist responding personnel in effectively managing emergencies for the protection of occupants, responding personnel, property and the environment.

The 2010 edition also contains pre-incident planning case histories and information addressing special or unique characteristics of specific occupancy classifications, as well as sample forms for pre-incident planning.
