Update to the latest NFPA 1994 to provide fire and emergency service personnel with the right PPE for CBRN terrorism incidents. NFPA 1994: Standard on Protective Ensembles for First Responders to CBRN Terrorism Incidents establishes the minimum requirements for the design, performance, testing, documentation, and certification of protective ensembles and ensemble elements for protection of emergency first responder personnel from chemicals, biological agents, and radiological particulate (CBRN) terrorism agents. Revised definitions and technical revisions make the 2012 edition of NFPA 1994 a “must,” with: Changes to the Man In Simulant Test (MIST) that could permit the use of more breathable materials to reduce heat stress to emergency responders, such as law enforcement personnel, who might use these ensembles over a longer duration in low challenge exposures and non-IDLH atmospheres. Changes to the Slip Resistance Test Changes to the Chemical Permeation Test Equip first responders for personal safety with the 2012 NFPA 1994.
