Make sure fire sprinklers are up-to-code in California using NFPA 25 with California amendments, Based on the 2011 NFPA 25. Based on the 2011 edition of NFPA 25 and updated to incorporate California amendments, the purpose of NFPA 25: Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems, California Edition is to provide requirements that ensure a reasonable degree of protection for life and property from fire through minimum inspection, testing, and maintenance methods for water-based fire protection systems, including land-based and marine applications. This Standard includes the full text of the 2011 edition of NFPA 25, annotated with California amendments. Strikeout items are not applicable in California. Shaded (screened) items are California amendments. Annex B in NFPA 25 is replaced with a special California Annex. In this edition, Annex B of NFPA 25 has been replaced in its entirety with a new California Annex that includes 23 forms in the format developed by the Office of the State Fire Marshal. They are to be used to record the result of all inspections, tests and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems (Title-19, CCR, Section 906.4 (a)). Stay up-to-code and in compliance with the NFPA 25: Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems, 2013 California Edition.
