NFPA 412 is an important standard for ARFF teams as they maintain and inspect the equipment responsible for that foam, including hand lines, turret nozzles, and ground sweep nozzles. All such equipment is regulated by a separate standard — NFPA 414 — leaving this document to cover the runway foam equipment in particular. The 2012 NFPA 412 includes updated test and evaluation methods. This new edition has been updated to reflect a variation in the evaluation of foam, allowing a wider variety of test methods to be used.
