Project 25 – Fixed Station Interface Conformance Test Procedure

Scope and Document Organization
This document lists a series of conformance tests for the
control interface to a conventional Fixed Station (FS) defined in
Ref. [1]. The tests follow directly with the material layout in
that document. This testing is intended to be applied by
manufacturers to assure that equipment actually conforms to the
formats and procedures defined for the Conventional Fixed Station
Interface (CFSI).
Conformance tests are complimentary to performance tests which
measure the actual limits of equipment performance. They are a
necessary prerequisite to interoperability tests. Interoperability
tests are intended to demonstrate interoperability between
particular implementations of conventional fixed station hosts
(FSHs) and conventional fixed stations (FSs).
Clause 4 provides an overview of the test methodologies and
configurations used in this specification.
Clause 5 provides the detailed specifications of conformance
tests for FSHs and FSs that implement the Analog conventional Fixed
Station Interface (AFSI).
Clause 6 provides the detailed specifications of conformance
tests for FSHs and FSs that implement the Digital conventional
Fixed Station Interface (DFSI).
