Description

1 Scope

1.1 These cables are rated 300, or 600v, 60°C (140°F) or 75°C (167°F). The insulated-conductor sizes are 30V 22 – 14 AWG, 150 – 300V 20 – 8 AWG, 600V 18 – 2 AWG and single conductor 300V or 600V 18 – 2 AWG solid or stranded copper.

1.2 This outline covers the construction and performance requirements for sprinkler systems wire intended for direct burial service for satellite solenoid control on golf courses and lawns, terminated to Type UF or USE cable.

1.3 A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems new or different from those covered by the requirements in this Outline of Investigation, and that involves a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons shall be evaluated using the appropriate additional component and end-product requirements to maintain the level of safety as originally anticipated by the intent of this Outline of Investigation. A product whose features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems conflict with specific requirements or provisions of this Outline of Investigation does not comply with this Outline of Investigation Revision of requirements shall be proposed and adopted in conformance with the methods employed for development, revision, and implementation of this Outline of Investigation.
