This Standard specifies the manually and electrically operated nursing beds principally intended for use in medical facilities (hereafter referred to as beds) that are capable of stepless adjustment of the angle of the back and leg sections, platform height and/or inclination of the whole bottom.

This Standard is also applicable to the flat floor type beds without the adjusments mechanism.

It is not applicable to the beds for medical care, the beds for children, the beds for a particular function and the electrically operated adjustable beds for home use.

The test liquid is synthetic blood that simulates blood, etc.

This Standard describes a test method for resistance of face masks to penetration by a splash.

The purpose of this Standard is primarily to clarify the test method of materials or certain material constructions used in face masks.

This test method does not address the performance of the face masks design, construction, interfaces or other factors which may affect the overall protection (such as filtration efficiency and pressure drop).

This test method does not evaluate the performance of face masks as a protection against contamination via airborne exposure pathways or in the prevention of the penetration of aerosolized body fluids deposited on the face mask.
