Specifies limits of exposure of the human body to radiofrequency radiation intended to avoid biological effects hazardous to the body in the frequency range 3 kHz to 300 GHz. The Standard applies to the occupational exposure of radiation workers and the incidental exposure of the general public. It does not apply to the irradiation of patients for medical diagnosis or treatment nor does it establish requirements for induced charges on steel structures or the ignition of explosives or flammable gases.

JIS 2013-03-21 39
]]>
This Standard specifies the scintillation type radiation meters used for measuring the activity concentration of gamma-emitting radionuclides in food/foodstuffs (hereafter referred to as "radiation meters") under field conditions where radioactive substances have spread due to the nuclear reactor accident, etc.

It does not apply to the low background stationary radioactivity analysis equipment such as a germanium gamma -ray detector used in specialized agencies for analysis.

In addition, this Standard is applicable also to the measurement of environmental samples in general such as soil, sewage, plant and animal life.

NOTE 1 The pretreatment method of samples is not covered by this Standard.

NOTE 2 The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

lEC 61563 : 2001 Radiation protection instrumentation – Equipment for measuring specific activity of gamma-emitting radionuclides in foodstuffs (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.

This Standard specifies personal eye-protectors for optical radiations (hereafter referred to as eye-protectors) intended to protect the eyes of workers in the work sites where ultraviolet radiation and infrared radiation, and intense visible radiation hazardous to eyes (hereafter referred to as hazardous radiations) are produced.

It is not applicable to face protectors for welding.

The hazardous radiations as referred to in this Standard do not include laser beams.
