ISO/IEC 29125:2017(E) This document specifies the use of generic balanced cabling for customer premises, as specified in the ISO/IEC 11801 series, for remote powering of terminal equipment. It provides guidance on new cabling installations and renovations. The customer premises may encompass one of more buildings or may be within a building that contains more than one organization. The cabling may be installed prior to the seelction of remote powering equipment or powered terminal equipment.

ISO/IEC TS 22237-5:2018 addresses the wide range of telecommunications cabling infrastructures within data centres based upon the criteria and classifications for "availability" within ISO/IEC TS 22237-1.

ISO/IEC TS 22237-5:2018 specifies requirements and recommendations for the following:

a) information technology and network telecommunications cabling (e.g. SAN and LAN);

b) general information technology cabling to support the operation of the data centre;

c) telecommunications cabling to monitor and control, as appropriate, power distribution, environmental control and physical security of the data centre;

d) other building automation cabling;

e) pathways, spaces and enclosures for the telecommunications cabling infrastructures.

Safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements are outside the scope of this document and are covered by other standards and regulations. However, information given in this document may be of assistance in meeting these standards and regulations.

The SCSI protocol is designed to provide an efficient peer-to-peer I/O bus with the maximum number of hosts and peripherals determined by the bus width (8 or 16). Data may be transferred asynchronously or synchronously at rates that depend primarily on device implementation and cable length. SCSI is an I/O interface that may be operated over a wide range of media and transfer rates. The set of SCSI standards provides for many different types of SCSI devices (disks, tapes, printers, scanners and many more), and specifies the interfaces, functions, and operations necessary to ensure interoperability between conforming SCSI implementations. This standard is a functional description of a device model that is applicable to all SCSI devices, and defines the SCSI commands that are mandatory and optional for all SCSI devices. Conforming implementations may employ any design technique that does not violate interoperability.
