Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.1<\/span> This specification2<\/span><\/span> covers austenitic alloy steel pipe for use in high-temperature, corrosive, or nuclear pressure service.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.2<\/span> Several grades of austenitic stainless steel are covered as indicated in Table 1<\/span>.<\/p>\n

1.3<\/span> Optional supplementary requirements are provided when additional testing may be required.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.4<\/span> The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard.<\/p>\n

Note 1:<\/span> This specification is not intended to cover centrifugal pipe made from alloys containing more than 0.20\u2009% carbon, such as are covered by Specification A297\/A297M<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
