It specifies additional characteristics for such units, used during transfer from one location to another and for drilling, production, accommodation, processing, storage and offloading purposes.<\/p>\n<p>It applies to all installations, whether permanent, temporary, transportable or hand-held, to AC installations and DC installations without any limitation on voltage level. Referenced equipment standards may give voltage level limitations.<\/p>\n<p>This document specifies requirements such as those concerning<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>environmental conditions,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>limits of inclination for the unit where the equipment is required to operate,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>bilge pumps,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>navigation and obstruction lights,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>steering gear,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>ballast system,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>jacking systems, and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>anchoring systems.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For electric propulsion, reference is made to IEC 60092-501.<\/p>\n<p>For dynamic positioning systems, reference is made to relevant IMO requirements.<\/p>\n<p>This document does not apply to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>fixed equipment for medical purposes,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>electrical installations of tankers, and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>control of ignition sources other than those created by electrical equipment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE 1 For medical rooms, IEC 60364-7-710 provides specific requirements.
