Applying the method to compound feeds with critical amounts of copper demands a special procedure (see <span class=\"xref\">Annex&nbsp;A<\/span>). The document is not applicable to mineral feeds, which are defined as complementary feeding stuffs composed mainly of minerals and containing at least 40&nbsp;% crude ash (Regulation R767\/2009) [<span class=\"xref\">3<\/span>].<\/p>\n<p>There are different categories of feed samples:<\/p>\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>\n<p>Additives containing about 10<sup>10<\/sup> (colony forming units) CFU\/g;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Premixtures containing about 10<sup>11<\/sup> CFU\/kg;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Compound feeds, meal or pellets, which contain about 10<sup>9<\/sup> CFU\/kg.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The detection limit is defined in <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">EN&nbsp;ISO&nbsp;7218<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>BS EN 15789.
