The application of each requirement is explained in terms understood in the industry. Typical examples are included to assist in understanding the requirements. <\/p>\n<p><b>Scope<\/b><\/p>\n<p> Guidance: <\/p>\n<p> This Clause is largely self-explanatory. In addition, AS 3920.1-1993, Assurance of product quality , Part 1: Pressure equipment manufacture , has requirements for certification of a supplier&#039;s quality system to AS\/NZS ISO 9001 and AS\/NZS ISO 9002. It also provides that the maintenance of a certified quality system reduces the extent of independent third party design verification and inspection for certain categories of pressure equipment. <\/p>\n<p> Whilst in Item (b) there is reference to design, this guidance document is also relevant to AS\/NZS ISO 9002 which does not include the design function.
