Quantitative methods are given for evaluating the most important errors. These include: <\/p>\n<p> * systematic calibration errors; <br \/> * errors caused by non-standard spectral response; <br \/> * non-standard spatial evaluation of <br \/> &#8211;irradiance (illuminance), <br \/> &#8211;spherical irradiance (illuminance), <br \/> &#8211;cylindrical irradiance (illuminance) or <br \/> &#8211;radiance (luminance); <br \/> * non-linearity; <br \/> * fatigue; <br \/> * temperature coefficient. <\/p>\n<p> Ways of judging the significance of less important aspects are suggested. These include: <\/p>\n<p> * reading error; <br \/> * effect of modulated radiation; <br \/> * influence of polarization; <br \/> * non-uniform response; <br \/> * detector instability; <br \/> * zero drift. <\/p>\n<p> The report deals with general problems of evaluation of photometric and radiometric instruments.
