This is the second edition of CSA B45.5\/IAPMO Z124, Plastic plumbing fixtures. It supersedes the previous edition published in 2011.<\/p>\n

d) IAPMO\/ANSI Z124.4-2006, Plastic Water Closet Bowls and Tanks;<\/p>\n

e) IAPMO\/ANSI Z124.6-2007, Plastic Sinks; and<\/p>\n

Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.1<\/p>\n

This Standard covers plastic plumbing fixtures and specifies requirements for materials, construction, performance, testing, and markings.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1.2<\/p>\n

This Standard covers the following plumbing fixtures:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

a) bathtubs and combination tub\/showers;<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

b) lavatories;<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

c) shower bases and shower stalls;<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

d) sinks:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

i) bar sinks;<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

ii) kitchen sinks;<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

iii) laundry sinks; and<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

iv) service sinks;<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

e) urinals; and<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

f) water closets.<\/p>\n

In this Standard, shall is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the standard; should is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required; and may is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limits of the Standard.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Notes accompanying clauses do not include requirements or alternative requirements; the purpose of a note accompanying a clause is to separate from the text explanatory or informative material.<\/p>\n

Notes to tables and figures are considered part of the table or figure and may be written as requirements.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Annexes are designated normative (mandatory) or informative (non-mandatory) to define their application.<\/p>\n

SI units are the units of record in Canada. In this Standard, the inch\/pound units are shown in parentheses. The values stated in each measurement system are equivalent in application; however, each system is to be used independently. Combining values from the two measurement systems can result in non-conformance with this Standard.<\/p>\n

All references to gallons are to U.S. gallons.<\/p>\n
