Preface<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is the third edition of CSA C749, Energy performance of dehumidifiers<\/em>. It supersedes the previous editions, published in 2007 and 1994.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This new edition of C749 has been developed to reflect changes in US DOE test procedure (Docket No. EERE\u20132010\u2013BT\u2013TP\u20130039 \u2013 Final Rule dated Oct 31, 2012).<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This Standard is considered suitable for use for conformity assessment within the stated scope of the Standard.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

CSA Group acknowledges that the development of this Standard was made possible, in part, by the financial support of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group.<\/p>\n

Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.1<\/p>\n

This Standard specifies<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

a) energy performance requirements for factory-made, self-contained, electrically-operated, mechanically-refrigerated household dehumidifiers with daily water-removal capacities of up to 87.5 L (185 U.S. pints);<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

b) test procedures for measuring capacity, standby power, off mode power, and active mode energy use; and<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

c) minimum and high efficiency energy factor, EF.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1.2<\/p>\n

This Standard does not include desiccant, thermoelectric, and ducted products.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1.3<\/p>\n

1.4<\/p>\n
