Capacitors for special<br \/>\npurpose application may need additional requirements.<\/p>\n<p>This standard covers three basic sub-families, namely:<\/p>\n<p>Sub-family 1: Fixed non-solid electrolyte tantalum capacitors<br \/>\nwith foil electrode.<\/p>\n<p>1A: Plain foil electrode.<\/p>\n<p>1B: Etched foil electrode.<\/p>\n<p>Sub-family 2: Fixed non-solid electrolyte tantalum capacitors<br \/>\nwith porous anode.<\/p>\n<p>Sub-family 3: Fixed solid electrolyte tantalum capacitors with<br \/>\nporous anode.<\/p>\n<p>Object<\/p>\n<p>The object of this standard is to prescribe preferred ratings<br \/>\nand characteristics and to select from I E C Publication 384-1<br \/>\n(1982), the appropriate quality assessment procedures, tests and<br \/>\nmeasuring methods and to give general performance requirements for<br \/>\nthis type of capacitor.
