The cable is intended for use<br \/>\nwith local area networks such as token ring networks and other<br \/>\nsystems employing similar technology as a total building wiring<br \/>\nsystem.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this standard is to:<\/p>\n<p>1. Establish uniform requirements and test methods for<br \/>\ncharacterizing geometric, mechanical, environmental, and<br \/>\ntransmission properties of Local Area Network Cable.<\/p>\n<p>2.
