{"id":608985,"date":"2024-11-05T22:44:30","date_gmt":"2024-11-05T22:44:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/iso-238262021\/"},"modified":"2024-11-05T22:44:30","modified_gmt":"2024-11-05T22:44:30","slug":"iso-238262021","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/iso\/iso-238262021\/","title":{"rendered":"ISO 23826:2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>This document specifies design, type testing, marking, manufacturing tests and examinations requirements for ball valves used as:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>closures of refillable transportable gas cylinders, pressure drums and tubes;<\/li>\n<li>main valves for cylinder bundles;<\/li>\n<li>valves for cargo transport units [e.g. trailers, battery vehicles, multi-element gas containers (MEGCs)];<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>which convey compressed gases, liquefied gases and dissolved gases.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE\u00a01\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In this document, the term \u201cvalve\u201d is used with the meaning of \u201cball valve\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This document does not apply to ball valves for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>oxidizing gases as defined in ISO\u00a010156;<\/li>\n<li>toxic gases (i.e. gases listed in ISO\u00a010298 having an LC<sub>50<\/sub> value\u00a0=\u00a05\u00a0000\u00a0ppm<\/li>\n<li>acetylene for single gas cylinders, pressure drums and tubes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>NOTE\u00a02\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The reason for the exclusion of oxidizing gases is that the use of ball valves as closures of high-pressure cylinders for oxidizing gases is known to lead to specific ignition hazards\u00a0that cannot reasonably be mitigated through the ball valve design or type testing.
