This Standard specifies domestic washing and drying procedures for textile testing.<\/p>\n
\nThe procedures are applicable to textile fabrics, garments or other textile articles which are subjected to appropriate combinations of domestic washing and drying procedures.<\/p>\n
\nProvision of this Standard<\/p>\n
\nProvision is made for as follows.<\/p>\n
\na) 13 different washing procedures based on the use of the reference washing machine Type A.<\/p>\n
\nb) 11 procedures based on the use of the reference washing machine Type B.<\/p>\n
\nc) 7 procedures based on the use of the reference washing machine Type C.<\/p>\n
\nWashing procedure<\/p>\n
\nEach washing procedure represents a single domestic wash.<\/p>\n
\nDrying procedure<\/p>\n
\nThis Standard specifies six drying procedures:<\/p>\n
\nA- Line dry<\/p>\n
\nB – Drip line dry<\/p>\n
\nC – Flat dry<\/p>\n
\nD – Drip flat dry<\/p>\n
\nE – Flat press<\/p>\n
\nF – Tumble dry<\/p>\n
\nProvision of test<\/p>\n
\nA complete test consists of a washing and drying procedure.<\/p>\n
\nNOTES 1 Use of different parameters (washing machine type, detergent type and type of tumble drier) may affect test results for any test using this Standard.<\/p>\n
\nTherefore, parties using this Standard are strongly encouraged to agree on the parameters to be used.<\/p>\n
\n2 The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.<\/p>\n
