This Bulletin identifies the tests appropriate for consideration
\nby the P25 Compliance Assessment Program Governance Board for
\nCompliance Assessment testing in the area of Transceiver
\nPerformance of a Trunking mode Subscriber Unit. These tests were
\ndeemed appropriate by the industry and user members participating
\nin the work of the Compliance Assessment Process and Procedures
\nTask Group (CAPPTG). The CAPPTG includes TIA members and
\nrepresentatives of Federal, State and Local Public Safety agencies
\nand organizations. This group, being familiar with the relevant
\npublished standards, available P25 equipment and test equipment and
\nthe general intentions of the P25 Compliance Assessment Program,
\nreviewed all tests and performance recommendations described in
\nreferences [1] and [2].<\/p>\n
The P25 Compliance Assessment Program confirms that the
\nequipment of different manufacturers will interoperate with respect
\nto the P25 defined features, services and interfaces. P25
\nCompliance Assessment testing of the Common Air Interface is
\nexpected to eventually include;<\/p>\n
\u2022 Performance Tests ensuring the Common Air Interface endpoints
\nare legitimate P25 devices for Trunking mode operation,
\nConventional mode operation, or both.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Conformance Tests ensuring the Common Air Interface endpoints
\nexchange the proper messages under the proper circumstances for
\nTrunking mode operation, Conventional mode operation, or both.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Interoperability Tests ensuring that Common Air Interface
\nendpoints from different manufacturers do functionally interoperate
\nfor Trunking mode operation, Conventional operation, or both.<\/p>\n
In determining the tests appropriate for P25 Compliance
\nAssessment Program testing in this area, the group considered
\nwhether tests in references [1] and [2] were important for
\nachieving interoperability between equipment of different
\nmanufacturers versus tests important for product design and\/or
\ncertification. In general, tests that were determined to be more
\noriented towards product design and\/or certification (such as but
\nnot limited to FCC certification) were deemed unnecessary for
\ninclusion in this list. The resulting list therefore represents
\ntests that are most important for or most likely to impact
\ninteroperability between manufacturers building to the same set of
