Introduction

This Part details definitions, methods of measurement and
minimum performance requirements of 800 MHz Cellular Digital Packet
Data (CDPD) Mobile Data Base Station (MDBS) transceivers. These
standards assure that a Mobile End System (M-ES) may obtain service
in any CDPD Network that meets the compatibility requirements of
the MDBS.

Compatibility, as used in connection with these standards and
those of the M-ES, is understood to mean: All CDPD fixed systems
that are able to establish communications with any M-ES.
Conversely, any Mobile End System is able to establish
communications in any CDPD system in which it is authorized.
