{"id":243646,"date":"2024-10-19T15:59:41","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T15:59:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-en-62561-32012\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T10:56:27","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T10:56:27","slug":"bs-en-62561-32012","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-en-62561-32012\/","title":{"rendered":"BS EN 62561-3:2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This part of IEC 62561 specifies the requirements and tests for isolating spark gaps (ISG) for lightning protection systems.<\/p>\n<p>ISGs can be used to indirectly bond a lightning protection system to other nearby metalwork where a direct bond is not permissible for functional reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Typical applications include the connection to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>earth termination systems of power installations;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>earth termination systems of telecommunication systems;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>auxiliary earth electrodes of voltage-operated, earth fault circuit breakers;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>rail earth electrode of AC and DC railways;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>measuring earth electrodes for laboratories;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>installations with cathodic protection and stray current systems;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>service entry masts for low-voltage overhead cables;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>bypassing insulated flanges and insulated couplings of pipelines.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This standard does not cover applications where follow currents occur.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE Lightning protection system components (LPSC) can also be suitable for use in hazardous conditions such as fire and explosive atmosphere.
