This Guide for procurement is not applicable to equipment for use in the nuclear reactor plant area of nuclear power stations. Other possible applications of such equipment have not been considered in the preparation of this Guide.<\/p>\n<p>This Guide on cabling systems deals with a wide range of activities and may be used for any or all of these activities by selection of the relevant parts e.g.:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>provision of support for cable;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>laying of cable;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>completion of cable ends;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Guide covers the installation of power cable up to and including 20,8\/36 (42) kV and the supply and installation of control and instrumentation cable. The supply of power cable is covered by EN 45510-2-8.<\/p>\n<p>The Guide includes the installation of protective conductor cable for earthing and equipotential bonding up to the main earthing busbar(s), but not the below ground earth-electrode network.<\/p>\n<p>The equipment covered by this Guide is defined by its function rather than design type. Therefore, the guidance to the specification is stated in performance terms rather than being specified by a detailed description of the equipment to be supplied.<\/p>\n<p>This Guide indicates to potential purchasers how their specification should be prepared so that<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>the equipment type and capacity interfaces correctly with other elements of the systems,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>predicted performance is achieved,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>ancillary equipment is properly sized,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>reliability, availability and safety requirements are achieved,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>proper consideration is given to the evaluation process and the quality measures to be applied.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This Guide does not determine the type of specification (e.g. detailed, performance, functional) or the extent of supply for any given contract which is normally decided on the basis of the purchaser&#8217;s project strategy. It does not cover<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>any commercial, contractual or legal issues which are normally in separate parts of an enquiry,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>any allocation of responsibilities which are determined by the contract.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This Guide does not prescribe the arrangement of the documents in the enquiry.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE As a comprehensive European environmental policy is still under preparation, this Guide does not address the environmental implications of the equipment.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Guide for procurement of power station equipment &#8211; Electrical equipment.
