Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.1<\/span> This test method covers a general procedure for determining the solidification point of most organic chemicals having appreciable heats of fusion and solidification points between 4\u2009\u00b0C and 41\u2009\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Note 1:<\/span> Other test methods for determining freeze point and solidification point of aromatic hydrocarbons include Test Methods D852<\/span>, D1015<\/span>, D1016<\/span>, D3799<\/span>, D4493<\/span>, and D6269<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.2<\/span> This test method is applicable to relatively pure compounds only. Solidification point depression is dependent on impurity concentrations.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.3<\/span> The following applies to all specified limits in this test method: for purposes of determining conformance with applicable specifications using this test method, an observed value or a calculated value shall be rounded off \u201cto the nearest unit\u201d in the last right hand digit used in expressing the specification limit, in accordance with the \u201crounding-off method\u201d of Practice E29<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.4<\/span> The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
