A graph gives the<br \/>\nlift-curve slope for an annular wing as a function of its width to<br \/>\nlength ratio, the lift is assumed to act at the nacelle lip, and a<br \/>\ncorrection term for the effect of the wing upwash field is added.<br \/>\nThe method is validated by comparing predictions with wind-tunnel<br \/>\ndata taken from the literature for both free-flow nacelles and<br \/>\nnacelles with variable mass flow and is found to predict the shift<br \/>\nto within 0.02 of aerodynamic mean chord.
