{"id":694879,"date":"2024-11-06T05:37:53","date_gmt":"2024-11-06T05:37:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/ul-7832020\/"},"modified":"2024-11-06T05:37:53","modified_gmt":"2024-11-06T05:37:53","slug":"ul-7832020","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/ul\/ul-7832020\/","title":{"rendered":"UL 783:2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>1 Scope<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1.1 These requirements cover battery-operated flashlights and lanterns for use in hazardous locations, Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C and D; Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D; Class II, Division 1, Groups F and G; and Class II, Division 2, Groups F and G as defined in the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70.<\/p>\n<p id=\"i783.6-1.2\">\n<p>1.2 These requirements apply to complete products with self-contained batteries, and include products consisting of a battery pack assembly and light assembly with interconnecting flexible cord.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"i783.6-1.3\">\n<p>1.3 These requirements do not cover flashlights and lanterns of the explosion-proof type or other type of construction providing protection against ignition of flammable gas- or vapor-air atmospheres.  Flashlights and lanterns that are intrinsically safe for Class I, Division 1 are covered by the Standard for Intrinsically Safe Apparatus and Associated Apparatus for Use in Class I, II, and III, Division 1, Hazardous (Classified) Locations, <b>UL 913<\/b>.
