Introduction

GPRS-136 is the packet data service provided in TIA/EIA-136
(also known as UWC-136). A general description of the System
Architecture and Protocol Descriptions is provided in
TIA/EIA-136-330.

To provide high data rates, GPRS-136 uses a 200 kHz channel,
also known as a 136HS Outdoor bearer. The upper layers of the
GPRS-136 protocol stack are common throughout UWC-136, applying to
each individual bearer (136+, 136HS Outdoor, and 136HS Indoor).
This document provides an Overview of the 136HS Outdoor bearer,
configured as a packet traffic channel (PTCH), for GPRS-136. An
RLC/MAC entity for the 136HS Outdoor bearer is specified in
TIA/EIA-136-342 and a Physical Layer is specified in
TIA/EIA-136-341.
