CSA Preface<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is the first edition of CAN\/CSA-ISO 8082-2, Self-propelled machinery for forestry \u2014 Laboratory tests and performance requirements for roll-over protective structures \u2014 Part 2: Machines having a rotating platform with a cab and boom on the platform, which is an adoption without modification of the identically titled ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Standard 8082-2 (first edition, 2011-12-01). <\/p>\n <\/p>\n For brevity, this Standard will be referred to as CAN\/CSA-ISO 8082-2 throughout. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n This Standard is one of a series of CSA Group Standards on roll-over, tip-over, operator and falling-object protection for mobile construction, industrial, mining, forestry, and agricultural machinery. This series is divided into the following Standards, with additional Standards to be added as they are developed: <\/p>\n <\/p>\n a) CSA B352.0-09 (R2014), Roll-over protective structures (ROPS), falling object protective structures (FOPS), operator protective structures (OPS), and tip-over protective structures (TOPS) for mobile machinery \u2014 General Canadian requirements; <\/p>\n <\/p>\n b) CAN\/CSA-M3463:09 (R2014), Tractors for agriculture and forestry \u2014 Roll-over protective structures (ROPS) \u2014 Dynamic test method and acceptance conditions; <\/p>\n <\/p>\n c) CAN\/CSA-M3471:05 (R2015), Earth-moving machinery \u2014 Roll-over protective structures \u2014 Laboratory tests and performance requirements; <\/p>\n <\/p>\n d) CAN\/CSA-M5700:09 (R2015), Tractors for agriculture and forestry \u2014 Roll-over protective structures (ROPS) \u2014 Static test method and acceptance conditions; <\/p>\n <\/p>\n e) CAN\/CSA-ISO 8082-1:16, Self-propelled machinery for forestry \u2014 Laboratory tests and performance requirements for roll-over protective structures \u2014 Part 1: General Machines; <\/p>\n <\/p>\n f) CAN\/CSA-M12003-1:09 (R2014), Agricultural and forestry tractors \u2014 Roll-over protective structures on narrow-track wheeled tractors \u2014 Part 1: Front-mounted ROPS; <\/p>\n <\/p>\n g) CAN\/CSA-M12003-2:09 (R2014), Agricultural and forestry tractors \u2014 Roll-over protective structures on narrow-track wheeled tractors \u2014 Part 2: Rear-mounted ROPS; and <\/p>\n <\/p>\n h) CAN\/CSA-M12117:05 (R2015), Earth-moving machinery \u2014 Tip-over protection structures (TOPS) for compact excavators \u2014 Laboratory tests and performance requirements. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Adoption of these ISO Standards on ROPS and TOPS, along with Standards such as the ISO 3776 series on operator restraint systems, will aid in the safe design of mobile construction, industrial, mining, forestry, and agricultural machinery across North America. <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n This part of ISO 8082 establishes a consistent and reproducible means of evaluating the load-carrying characteristics of roll-over protective structures (ROPS) on self-propelled forestry machines under static loading, and gives performance requirements for a representative specimen under such loading.
