The variables considered in the<br \/>\ninterpolation\/extrapolation routine make the procedure particularly<br \/>\napplicable to estimating noise from coaxial jets. The database need<br \/>\nnot be restricted to data for an isolated coaxial jet but could<br \/>\ninclude installation and flight effects as well as other components<br \/>\nof coaxial jet noise (e.g. combustion noise, shock noise, etc.).<br \/>\nThe computation involves a least-squares fitting procedure where<br \/>\nfour independent variables are used. Appropriate weighting of the<br \/>\ndata is included. The program uses quadratic interpolation within<br \/>\nthe least-squares fitting procedure. To provide a basic prediction<br \/>\nprocedure for the estimation of far-field, jet mixing noise from<br \/>\nstationary jet engines with conical nozzles, a comprehensive<br \/>\ndatabase is provided. The computer program may be run using either<br \/>\nthe provided database or another database. The database can be<br \/>\naltered as new data become available.
